P90x Round 2 Week 3

Here we are again. Some of this I feel like I am just repeating over and over again. But I still want to keep everyone up on my journey.

P90x Rocks. That should about sum up the article.

Just kidding. The improvements I am experiencing never cease to amaze me. I am getting stronger and more muscular all the time now. The only real change that I have made is in some of the cardio day routines. As a cyclist, I have been trying to get in some of my rides on those days. Since when I go out, I tend to ride for two to four hours, with little rest, I am burning the calories and mixing it up a bit more in the process. I am on the verge of busting the 200 lb mark, that by itself excites me. I have not been below 200 in quite a few years. One great side effect that I have noticed is that when I come out of the saddle to do a burst of speed, that burst is outrageous. I can really tell the difference, and the other thing that I have noticed is that my cruising speed has increased by about 2 mph. The physical discipline I have aquired is also tremendous. In the past, when I began to get pretty tired, I would find a spot to pull over and take a breather, but since doing P90x, I suck it up and push on for another mile or two. I have also noticed that the point in which I reach that tiredness is a lot longer and farther then before.

Am I happy with P90x. I am. I would not be doing it if it didn’t really work. I am so busy most of the time, that I have to squeeze the workouts into my busy schedule, but being that the results are there, I do put in the effort to do just that.

I am actually finishing up week 4 now, and I will be starting Phase 2 tomorrow. The other thing that is a bit different here is that I am on vacation during the rest week, so I have not been following the rest week routine to the letter. But that said, I am feeling great, I can tell that during this week, I have improved even more, and I am dying to get back into the regular routine. I am actually looking forward to tomorrows workout and the renewed progress it will bring.

If you have been following this, and you haven’t jumped on the P90x bandwagon, or any of the Beachbody programs, I would encourage you to do so. This started as an experiment and has pretty much become a lifestyle change for me. I am at the top of the hill at 50, but for the last 4 months now, I have been slowly forcing myself back down, the way I came up. I can honestly say that I am in the best shape of my life, and I still have a ways to go to reach top shape. I’m 52, almost 53, and if it works for me like this, just imagine how it would work for someone younger. When your younger, your body adapts and repairs itself faster and better, so, what might take me 6 months to do, you could do in 90 easily.

Enough on that. Hang in there with me as I continue to evolve my lifestyle and body into what I always wanted it to be. I am just glad that I made the decision to do it.

I am getting some pictures ready to post here, showing my results. It is ok if you are disgusted with the starting photo, I know I sure was.

Thanks again for sticking with me.

Bring It!

Jim
